AC'97--i see this connector that is connected to the same cable as my  HD AUDIO connector but there is no reference to it in my mobo manual.

Do I just leave it unplugged?

It's for a sound connection standard that was only used on motherboards that have long since passed, I believe.

Very old onboard sound cards, very old. Like early 2000s kind of old. Get rid of it. You can read up on how crappy Realtek AC97 audio was on Google. I still have a computer with one of them lying around... Clips audio too often and the thought of getting any kind of bass out of that ancient thing is a galaxy away
