Mini system for server hosting

Go to solution Solved by brwainer,

any old computer, or a raspberry pi or similar single-board devices. You could also try running a VM from you main computer.

Edit: for specifics: if you are just messing with a web server and don't see more than a handful of people connecting at once, there will be basically no load. After 5 or 10 people simultaneously, or if you make really intensive server side scripts, then you might see a raspberry pi or old computer start to get loaded down. But more likely such a slow CPU and small amount of RAM will be enough for a few dozen people on a static website, or a handful of people on a dynamic one.

Hi

So i'm looking for a cheap PC that i can use to setup a test server (web application, Apache etc).

I just don't know what im looking for in terms of specs and so on.

Just to clarify:

It's for local testing only

It doesnt have to be powerfull, just enough juice to handle a small site.

I'm not interesting in redundancy and such. After all it's just something to mess around with

So what kind of hardware am i looking for?

Thanks in advance!

Looking to buy GTX690, other multi-GPU cards, or single-slot graphics cards:
