I played it DA:I on my laptop 900p. 750M and i5 4200M. Performance wise it was fine, but game itself was meh.

So a friend of mine is looking for a new lappy to play Dragon Age Inquisition on - she's not looking to spend a lot and asked me for advice.

I came across the Asus N550JK
It has a 768p display
aluminum body
supposedly a dual-fan design

Intel i5 4200H
Nvidia GTX 850M 2GB
8GB RAM
1TB drive

price of this is about 700-750$ Prices here are very high. MSI are not available.

I have a pretty strong feeling it will be fine - according to Notebookcheck the thermals are okay and benches seem fine. Anyone have experience with this? Her current Pentium G3230 + GT 640 can't really run that game properly.
I believe the i5 should be a considerable upgrade. not sure about the card though.

TO ANYONE RECOMMENDING A DESKTOP: she wants a mobile machine for work.

the i5-4200H is an hyper-threaded dual core at 2.8ghz, so it's quite weak...the g3258 will oupterform it...can it run Dragon age, i dont think so...at least certainly not very well.

G3230 - not 3258. big difference. DA:I needs a quad core or a chip that acts like one. the i5 should be closer to a desktop i3 and at 768p I thought it would work.

It should run . Although not very well .

DA:I can run on a hyperthreaded dual core, but dont plan on running it on high or anything . More like low-medium.

She'd be happy at 30 fps medium from what I know - out of all my friends, I am the only 60 fps snob :P
