Checking Hardrive Use Time

I was wondering how to check the number of hours a hdd has been used on my computer, and after a couple of pointless google searches thought "I'm sure someone here knows"

 

Is it a separate software or is it part of the os in say properties or something on the drive (Windows 7 btw)
