Hey Linus Tech Tips,

I've been getting into Elite: Dangerous lately with some friends and I'm looking into a good joystick for playing this game as well as other simulation type games. What would be some good options?

CPU: Core i7 4770k, RAM: 8GB DDR3 GSkill Ripjaws X, PSU: OCZ 700W, GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270X, Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl, Cooler: Noctua NH-D14

Saitek X52 if you're not.

If you're not tight on cash, the Saitek is definitely NOT the best joystick you can get... Not by a long shot..

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

Budget?

I'd be willing to blow a good chunk of change to get something of high quality. Maybe upwards of $350-$400 if it's worth it.

If anyone could give more help it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you can afford it, the Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog is pretty much the best you can buy, as far as fighter-style joysticks go... (That I'm aware of, and that's mass produced. I'm sure you could blow a couple grand on on that's made by some botique builder or other...)
