Motherboard / CPU upgrade queries

Hi,

 

I'm a novice at PC building & upgrading and I'm new to these forums so I don't really know if there's a general guide for this somewhere so sorry if this isn't the place to ask.

 

Current PC specs:

 

CPU: Intel i5 2500k

CPU Cooler: Xigmatek HDT-S963

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Mobo: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 4GB)

HDD: S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s

GPU: Geforce GTX 970

Case: Zalman Z9 Plus

PSU: 700W Xigmatek

 

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to an i7, but I don't know which i7 to upgrade to. I've seen a couple ones that I'm interested in at a decent price, but I'd have to buy an expensive motherboard to support them. I've been looking around for "package deals", and I'm just writing here to ask if people could either talk about the one I've found or recommend others (or individual pieces). [Link below]

 

I have a price limit of around £300-400 but I'd really rather keep it on the low end (hence why I'm hesitant to buy this deal). I'd prefer to not have to replace my CPU for at least 2 years and for it to be capable of running all new game releases until then.

You don't need an expensive motherboard to support and i7 If you want to overclock though you'd have to get a Z97 chipset if you're going Haswell.
