ASRock Z97M Pro4 good or bad?

Ordering parts for new computer, and wondering if the Z97M Pro4 is good or if I should avoid it.

Parts I have thought about:

An i7-4790K, 16GB HyperX Black 1600MHz, R9 390 (Not sure if Nitro, or MSI Gaming 4G), Fractal Design Node 804 (Will be moving the computer weekly, so a small case is a requirment)

Well, it is a good board, but you shouldn't expect very high overclocks with this board.

It has only 4 CPU-phases and while I cannot say for sure that more CPU-phases are needed for a higher overclock, I can say at least that it will be more stable and also safer to run.

The AsRock Fatal1ty Z97M Killer for example has 8 CPU phases and quite a bit better connectivity.

But if you want to use the Z97M Pro4, then do it. It won't hurt you in any way and it's a good board for its price.

I am not sure but if this thing has weak VRMs you wont OC it to far...

Really, really nice - costs like 110 to 120 bucks these days and has plenty of power phases for your OC'in.

I say it's a pretty good board. Have had a friend use one but he upgraded a few months earlier. You should be fine
