So, as some of you know, I enjoy overclocking, *too much its a bit unhealthy*, So with Christmas/Cyber Monday coming up soon I have a decision to make... What to get...

Now, I accidentally screwed up a bit... and my system is rendered un-overclockable *except GPU* and I can't exactly pin what part it is thats making it, un-overclockable. I have a strong feeling its my Motherboard

Which this'll give me a chance to buy a high-end motherboard compared to the low-end Extreme3 that I've been using since December that has held up for a long time.

So here are my options,

Overclocking (My first preference) Note, if anyone recommends higher speed-lower CAS RAM feel free to drop it down below

Motherboard: MSI Z97 XPOWER AC EATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($232.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 500R White ATX Mid Tower Case  ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $375.96
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Or
NVidia GeForce GTX 980Ti (Yes I'm going to be that guy running a NVidia 980Ti, No I don't want a non-reference design I'm not into GPU overclocking)
Or peripherals If anyone else has a better headset to recommend feel free to recommend it, Also with the power supply, If anyone wants to recommend one, feel free too.

Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Mouse: Corsair Sabre Wired Laser Mouse  ($49.89 @ Amazon)
Headphones: Astro A40 7.1 Channel Headset  ($141.99 @ Best Buy)
Total: $446.86
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-10-09 13:58 EDT-0400
So, I need your guys opinions on what to get, remember, I'll only be getting one, so, If you have anything you think I should change, I'll keep an open mind EXCEPT THE 980Ti, I'll be moving into 1440p soon and the 980TI will require a bit more cash, so I won't be getting that right away
*apologies in advanced if I posted in the wrong section this one seemed the most appropriate*

You dont have to be an overclocker to make use of a none reference gpu O.o. Gigabyte windforce 980 ti is already overclocked from the get go

EDIT:

Reference is.... well... sh1t. Unless u plan to put water cooling on the reference and then overclock it. In other words reference is more for overclockers.

The only reason i voted for mobo, ram, cpu was because "reference" otherwise i would vote GPU anyday. Ur cpu is already very good.

I'm like... not into non reference designs at all...

Windforcer is my least favorite... EVER

Gigabyte windforce is one of the best performance/price for none overclockers (though it can also be overclocked to very sick results)

EVGA is also extremely good 980 ti, namely the kingpin. Probably the BEST 980ti but also comes with the best price tag (by best i mean the highest price tag)

*cough cough not into non-ref desings* mainly because when the time comes I'll be slapping Corsair's water cooling bracket on it and some Custom PCB's don't agree with that bracket...

and the only non reference design I like are from Galax and EVGA with there new ACX 2.0 design which after how much noise it produces

Edit: Galax's design http://www.galax.net/US/980ti_hof.html

i voted for the psu, but i would like to suggest psu upgrade paired with a second 970 ;)

I probably wont keep my 970 cause my friend has a 970 that he would like to do SLI with and I could sell it to him for 230 and that could be how I come up with the extra cash for a 980Ti again, assuming I would chose the 980Ti.

ok then, np. But keep in mind that the evga 600b is not that good either. It is cx600 comparable(not the same, but not that much better quality)

unless you mean a evga B2 in sig

The site has changed....

It hasn't given me any trouble yet, and I do mean the 600B (non 2) I've had it under load for days with heavy overclocks and I haven't had any problems *YET* and again, If I do chose the 980Ti and sell my 970 I could defiantly spot the money for a PSU upgrade ^-^

and TBH, its quite different because of the operating temps EVGA has a max temp of 50c and Corsair 40c, But I defiantly know I NEED a new PSU soon, Thats what other family members are for xD
