Computer Randomly Shuts Down

Hi guys so my pc is shuting down randomly. If you need my specs check my profile.

 

My pc just randomly shuts down. In the windows event log it says shutdown was unexpected. the pc is running at 90c and when it hits 100c it cuts out. I added a new termal paste to the cpu. Open hardware moniter says that the GPU and HArdrive are both at 30c

 

Any help asap would be appricated

Wow ... 90c? Something's wrong. Check if the CPU Fan is plugged correctly. What are your specs?

The temps 90c to 100 are VERY dangerous for your PC components that are reaching that. That will shorten lifetime by... lets just say alot. Your pc must be turning off due to over heating then. Also is them temps with load on the CPU?

I also see you are using stock cooling, make sure you are not overclocking. Also would it be possible for you to post a picture of the thermal paste on the CPU.

I will get a Screen shot of the openhardware monior. Also its jut idle

keep your eyes on your cpu temp. it might fail completely if its constantly that hot.

 

upgrade your cooler? and if thats not an option then manually promp the fans higher

Otherwise if this problem stays, you might want to switch to watercooling.

because my case is quite closed down with low airflow but with stock cooler its still 70-80 max.

I got a fractil define r5 its massive and its in the middle of a room with a fan pointed at it.

then you might wanna consider buying a new cooler.

try cleaning the fan first. it might have lots of dust in it.

well i think the answer is quite clear then. get a new cooler

1. Your PC shuts down to protect the CPU

2. Overhead Reasons can be too much Termalpaste or wrong attached CPU Cooler

3. Boxed CPU Cooler are not the best Solution, but good enough to handle the Heat if you dont OC.

4. You need good Airflow in your Case. At least 1 intake (front) and 1 outtake (back)

Good Cablemanagement can help alot with the Temperatures.

 

You should run prime95 to stress the CPU

Watch the Temps and rpm of the CoolerFan with coretemp, speedfan or any other Programm that support your Mainboard while the stresstest is running.

When you are sure that you installed the CPU Cooler correct, its possible that the Fancontroll or the Fan itself is broken and the Fan dont increase its rpm with growing Temperatures.
