I have a new hard drive (750gb) im having trouble with.

it was clean wiped to I booted of my ssd and formatted it to nfts or whatever and it was working fine.

I then added back in my two other 250 hdds back in and now it wont work.

it shows up as 0 bytes and it has reverted to raw and is so unusable, and is now a pain in the a** to work with as everytime I try to format is it freezes (stops responding) or fails the format... or says something about an io error.

I have tried changing the sata plug but to no avail...

help plz as I have a lan tomorrow.

My rig: r7 1700 @ 3.9/1.35v, 16gb ddr4 3200, assorted rando SSDs, hx 1050, vega 64 1650/1025

Is it brand new or used, as I would never use a second hand HDD.. Did you change sata port when you added back the other HDDs?

used... I got it as a freebee

I forgot, does it work if you unplug the other two hard drives?

yes but only if I boot and nuke it and set it back to nfts

tried formatting using a live Linux USB ?

PS I/O errors do tend to mean the drive has died, I have one on my desk now that is the same :-(

ill take it back to my school it (who I got it from and ask to swap it for a 500gb that works... they wont mind)
