Tablet design idea

Hi guys, my first ever post on the LTT forum. I've been a long time fan ! First video that got me hooked was Linus's review of a cool monitor ... but now on topic. I have in my opinion a great idea for a tablet (and accessories) design. Does anyone know any way to get in touch with a manufacturer to see if it's worth something and if I can sell it or better yet produce/get it manufactured it ? I've mocked it up on paper and started building it in Design Spark digital (3D modeling software, I know not the best but it's what I know plus it's free).

Best way would be to email them with the photos attached, or enter competitions 

 

as for 2 vids a day, i doubt it. they take a long time to make and currently they dont have enough staff, unless luke just did videos and they hired a few more editors

build a product yourself until if its worth something, some brand will knock it off and crush you.

If you genuinely believe your design is noteworthy, don't go giving it to someone else. They can and will steal it. You have to be willing to put in time and money (either your own or investors' you can convince) into refining it and making it a reality. It's a lot of work, but if you think it is worth it it's the only way. Only time I think it would be beneficial to tell a manufacturer is if you work for them in a related field anyhow, might get you a promotion or something.

 

Although if you don't care about benefiting from it, you could throw a refined idea at as many manufacturers as possible and maybe they'll look at it/steal it/be inspired by it. Don't forget it's their entire purpose to do what they do, so they are probably doubtful an industry outsider has anything revolutionary/feasible.

 

But seriously... Crowdfunding is a thing designed to make this kind of process easier.

Your going to have to make it yourself. If you need funding and you think your idea is worth it, make a KickStarter or something and then build it.

 

An idea is worthless if it's not well implemented and used.
