Chrome Refuses to launch

A lot of the time when I open chrome, it doesn't launch.  The process is shown running in task manager.  I've tried ending the process opening chrome again to no avail.  The only solution at the moment is restarting, which is not convenient in the middle of class

I would have finished that but i got distra-oh my god is that Linus!?

Next time you think you need to reboot, try just logging off and back on.  I know that's not a solution, but depending on if that works or not might help narrow this down (and provide a quicker option in the mean time)

Try clearing your user data. Something might have been not saved properly the last time you used chrome, and may be causing hiccups during its startup. You can always uninstall and re-install if your Google account is linked.

 

Chrome might also be in the middle of updating itself. Don't forget Chrome auto-updates.
