So, I'm currently running an EVGA GT 640 2BG. with the nearing release of Battlefront I've come to the stark realization that this card will not do very well, so the question is, is there a combination of GPUs that i can crossfire to get the desired performance (eg HD 6770) vs spending a boat load of cash on a single gaming grade GPU, such as a r9 290 (I can't really afford such a card right now). which brings me to the off topic part of my setup, i'm running a phenom ii x4 965 BE CPU, is that going to limit my performance anyways and no need upgrading the GPU just to be bottle necked at the cpu?

here are the recommended specs for battlefront from origin, I honestly think i might be screwed....

Processor (Intel): Intel i5 6600 or equivalent
Memory: 16GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB

That's for the beta. The specs are likely to change by the time the game rolls out.

I hear the recommended specs for Battlefront have been bumped up a bit. Keep in mind that this game will run on consoles so if you can handle lower framerates and slightly terrible textures and you don't need that per se. I know there was an article done where the person played the beta on a lower than spec PC and it ran okay but it was below 60 FPS so yeah

No sadly, a R9 285 would be my entire weekly income at the moment, i was recently laid off   :(

Damn.

That took an interesting turn.

Uh... any particular budget?

no sure how much lower i could handle, as a comparison, AC Rouge turned all the way down maxes out at 30fps on my system, and is so sluggish it not playable.

Yeah, until the game comes out we won't really know how well it performs on 'non-recommended' cards

honestly, as little as possible lol, i was hopping someone had made a comparison like this and i could find a set of super cheap cards on ebay for less than $100

The best you can really do is scour eBay for a good deal. I just ordered a 290x for $230 so there are definitely good deals out there you just have to look around.
