Help with ikea desk stuff

Go to solution Solved by Guest OfficialBen,

Getting that frame for the top would be a good option but ideally if you can try to get a solid wood or particle board desk material since the linnmon series is hollow with a honeycomb cardboard structure so it will sag overtime with regular table legs.

Wouldn't the metal bars in the middle stop that?

PS i allready have the linnmon with shitty legs

So i have an Ikea linnmon table top (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00251343/)

I have the cheap Adils legs and I really want something sturdier.

Would this Belkant Under frame fix to this table top? http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10252912/

Some people on Reddit talked about this and mentioned these http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10267895/

I just need some clarification because the thread wasn't very clear on how to attach the 2. Here is the Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/IKEA/comments/30xyhc/desk_idea_are_these_compatible/

Yes it would but just as a long term durability especially if your desk top has already started to sag with the generic legs getting a new top for the desk is a good idea.

Ok, also do you have any idea how the bekant attaches to the linnmon, the linmon has a circle of 5 screw holes at each of the 4 corners the bekant looks different. Is that what the Capita is for?

The bekant underframe had this side notice: To be completed with BEKANT table top 47 1/4". So I'm thinking that's the only top with the right drillholes. I'm not sure the hollow linnmon top would be anchored properly.

Yeah I am thinking the capita has something to do with that...

That's one thing with the Linnmon I think they had blocks of wood in the board where the drill holes were to screw the legs in place so ideally you would want to have atleast one screw in those 4 spots to hold it and the rest to more or less help hold it down.

The Berkant one is solid particle board so theorically you could drill anywhere and mount any legs you want but the linnmon as said is fairly hollow so it may be a slight problem
