So I have $1500 to mess with, but I need to build a new rig. I want to have a monster of a PC that can ultra most things, but is also super fast aside from gaming. I either want to have a GTX 970 or 980 Ti in it, but also definitely want to have an i7 in it as well that can be overclocked. I want this PC to be future proof. I also want this to be able to fit into a mid size case. Other than that, I really need help deciding which parts to use.

Don't need peripherals. Only need an OS as extra. I just need the best build I can get for that price.

I will be doing some video editing as well. I want to do video editing fast and efficiently, but I mainly want to use this for gaming. Most of the videos I will be making will be of gameplay.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4Ccx3C Hows this? ticks all your boxes I think

No no no.

CX) Bad

Get a 1TB HDD and 250GB 850 Evo

For $100 on a 120mm RAD get a NZXT x41 Kraken or a high end Noctua cooler.

Color matching is horrible.

Now with either build, the ideal one in particular, will I need to buy any extra fans or such for cooling? Or will everything that I really need be included?

as you have both a liquid cooler and a ZCX cooler in both builds, i am going to say no, but, with the budget plan especially, an additional fan couldn't hurt.

you can get sp120 quiets in 2 packs from corsair for $20 or so
