I woke up this morning to my computer stuck on my BIOS splash screen. It was frozen which was odd. I pressed a function button and the mobo beeped once and stayed frozen. After switching parts in and out the RAM (after the third try) resetting it let it boot back up again. This has happened twice now (this morning, and sunday morning). Any ideas?

CPU overclocked? Ram throwing errors in memtest?

CPU isnt overclocked, and memtest is giving me nothing.

strange. what happens with one stick of ram and no storage devices connected? Does the bios still lock up?

When it was acting up, I would put one stick of ram in. The first time it froze- second time it booted up. So I then turned it off, put the rest of the sticks in and it booted up again.

this is not exactly the smartest thing to do, but what happens if you try wiggling the stick a little bit while the PC is in bios? Does the system hang? I had a motherboard with an intermittent ram slot and a dead one, and the intermittent one would cause a crash when I wiggled it.
