Hey all so i have finally begun my first build. I'm starting my build with a Dell Vostro 460, the reason for this is... well it was just easier for me then just going out and buying separate parts well for me anyway.

so first up:

the first thing i did when i pulled out this computer from the old studie (now just a storage room) i pulled it apart so everything is out. i went ahead and blew all of the dust out of the case with my trusty air compressor and found five dead flys and a very much alive red back spider (if you dont know what this is google it) so once i cleaned out the case i moved to the mother board and fans ok fans first i blew as much dustr as i could with the air compressor but there was still some residue left behind that was stuck there (mabye due to static electricity) anyway i found some old q tips and %90 percent isopropal alchohol and cleaned them down all two of them including the cpu fan after this i ccleaned uop the mother after taking the ram out and the took off the cpu cooler and cleaned that aswell as replacing the thermal paste with 'High Performace Cooler Master ' paste (pea methord used) then i opened up the power suply and blew away all the bunnys and put it back together.

Second: the rebuild

ok so now at the stage of rebuilding. i start off with putting the power in, next the hdd, then motherboard and optical drive and plug everything back in and turn it on waiting.... nothing happens... oops forgot to turn on the switch at the wall errr. ok so i fire it up again and it works.

3rd: re install of windows 7 (all i could find at the time but now have windows ten)

ok do a fresh install and all goes well my new rig is up and running i then move onto installing my programs chrome browser steam etc.

4th: doing some mods part I

ok so i went out and got some fan all with ceramic bearings aswell as some 3pin splitter cables

i plug them all in and they work great temps are down a degree or two so i velcrove them down and continue to use my cimouter as normal.

4th: part II

ok so ive been looking around at how to sleeve your psu cable and it dosnt seem to hard so i ask my dad for some heat shrink and cable sleeving and the use of his heat gun. im not going to go into the detail but ill tell you what ive sleeved so far:

6 pin cable: found this one the easiest

4 pin mother board power cable

1 out of 2 inline sata power cables

still have to do the 20+ pin and the other sata power cable

5th: the peripherals

ok so now ill move on to my gear currently i am using:

logitech g300 mouse

Dell p2412Hbc monitor DVI input

cooler master cm storm quick fire XT keyboard with cherry mc brown keys only one day old and loving it so far.

logitech z - 2300 the last of the greats

razer Galiathus mouse pad medium size speed edition

Plans for the future:

new case preferably nzxt h440 or 810 switch but lookinga a the thermal take tesseract black on white with blue led's

so thats my build so far be sure to check in often as i will post new upgrades and mods
