MSI cause it has a sick dragon logo on it. But in all seriousness, it depends on what you're gonna be doing with your card. I feel like you should get MSI if you're not OC and get Gigabyte if you are OC.

Why are you buying a 970? Barely DX12 support (games later this year are using the ATI..) Just get a 390.

Stock speeds and oc speeds on the gigabyte are faster so if you can fit it get it

 

BTW I have one, though mine self boosted to 1430+ Mhz

I'm running a Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970.  Runs quiet and rips through games on ultra settings without an overclock.

 

Games I play,   GTA V, BF4,  Arma 3,  Project Cars,  etc.

If I were to choose for you, I'd pick the Gigabyte. For myself, I would wait for the MSI to be cheaper and get that because it looks much better and runs slightly quieter.
