Hey all, Iam looking for some outside advice from others about what I should go for in my next build. My current one is fine and heavily water cooled and OCed so I dont like moving it around much for any parties. And for Christmas this year I want to get my dad a 4k TV and we have no dvd player or blu ray so I figured I would make a SFF rig mainly for lan parties and letting my parents use for movies on the new 4k tv.

I want to go with Intel since my current build is all AMD and Iam not biased so iam switching things up, I just wonder if I should go for Skylake or not? I know its kind of expensive right now and I just saw Cannon Lake comes out next year, plus do I need all of it? Iam planning on using Intergrated graphics for a bit until they release a 950ti hopefully then go with that, so should I go for like the 6500 i5? Its not to expensive and I wont be behind with it.

Or does Haswell perform the same with DDR3 for cheaper and Skylake is just over priced right now? I obviosuly wont be maxing out 4k at 60fps but I would like to max out my friends cheap 1080s with it so will going for Skylake make a difference using the Intergrated graphics over the Haswell?

Any info is much obliged!

Thats a good build I like that, I just need a either Cooler Master Elite 130 Or Fractal Design Core 500 because I need an optical drive, for the tv and all. Otherwise I would probably make the same exact build dude. Thanks for the info!
