Hello i just recently installed a new cpu. For some reason now i keep having games crash for no reason. I have no idea why they are crashing because my temperatures for the cpu and gpu are low and i don't have any viruses or trojans on my computer that can cause this problem.

My pc specs are:

GPU: evga 2gb 750ti

CPU: amd a8-3870k

PSU: 300w standard psu

MOBO: AAHD2-HY(holly)

RAM: 8gb ddr3 ripjaws ram

whenever i start up a game it starts up fine but after couple of minutes it just crashes.

my nvidia drivers are all up to date. please help.

Only a 300W psu for that hungry card? That could be a problem on it's own, does the system crash and reboot or is it freezing? What W was your old cpu and what is your new cpu rated at?

don't think the card is the problem, more the apu which may be much more power hungry than the old one. but then, it should crash immediately but not after a couple of minutes if it's the psu

EDIT: APU 100W, GPU >60W -> here estimated 180W + 50W (for all the other stuff)-> could be close with that psu especially because it is a standard one... just try to get a new psu first

The difference won't be by much, that card will be twice or 3 times more demanding on that PSU at loud than a little CPU, it's no FX chip.

The old cpu i was using was the E2-3200. I have not overclocked anything in my system so the new gpu is at 3ghz.

but this one has only 65 W TDP so about 35 W less which could bring the psuwith the new apu to its limit....

This is the computer that i have however i upgraded the ram gpu and cpu. http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03145498

so if i see that right it didn't came with a discrete graphics card. You did add the 750 ti (+60W est). The PSU is supposed to handle a 100W TDP apu upgrade without discrete graphics (+ 35W). As a conclusion: The PSU is on its limit because you added teh 750 ti.

I would suggest getting a new psu, try it and if it doesn't disappear, come back.
