So this morning I already posted about this. I ran it a while at 4.7GHz at 1.255V and when I tested with both aida64 and OCCT temps would go up to 90 and more. (Not constantly but it would bounce up to like 90-92 then back down to 70 for some odd reason)

During cs:go gameplay it was ok but now after playing for longer than an hour temps would go a little too high to my likings.. 80°C

So I decided to turn it down to 4.6GHz at 1.220V but temps still go up to 90°C ... I'm officially lost now. Anyone know what's going on?

SOLVED: So apparently I didn't adjust some setting or it got auto adjusted. My CPU input voltage was set at 1.8V, a friend told me 1.4V was like max so that was the problem of my super high temps after 30 seconds of benching. Back to overclocking and seeing if I can hit 4.8! :D

The Gif shows 100% load utilisation. Means something is running your cpu at top speed

Disable some program thats running at the background

Yea I'm running aida64, it's a benckmark stresstest for your CPU to test if you have a stable overclock... it's supposed to run at 100%

Then I'd suspect it's not making contact or you could have an issue with the thermal paste. I would do a sensor test first though.

Sensor test?

Either that or the fan. It may not be spinning at a faster rate while in load.

AIDA64 has one but I use TempGT to test the sensors, takes about 15min.

Seems like you need prime95 for that, and I heard that prime95 and i7 4790K aren't that good friends..

Yes, do not use prine95. Real temp is a great app, get it if only to get temps from multiple programs. I run it and Afterburner while I game to monitor everything.

Yea I got afterburner running all the time too.
