Laptop for LT $400

I am shopping for a laptop for my grandmother, who will only be using basic ms office software, and also use the machine for quicken and ancestry/research type stuff. The budget is $400. I'd like to get her something that has at least an i3, and an ssd (doesn't need to be huge) or a hybrid HD. A Chromebook is out of the question.

I doubt that you will get a laptop  that has an SSD for under $400 unless it is a tablet.

I would just upgrade to a ssd later. My dad got a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 with a Celeron processor, 4gm of ram, and a 500gb 5200rpm hdd for about 400$ after tax. It performs smoothly although quite slow compared to my laptop.

The Toshiba and Acer have SSDs (although small), all meet your price point.

You should probably get a cheap i3 one and an ssd, then swap it. That may stay in your budget, plus you can throw the hdd into a case and have an external hdd for it

I saw that one, but was hoping to get one with an ssd, even if it had a weaker cpu. I think this might be the one though.

Replacing the drive shouldn't be a problem. I don't know about warranty. I've never used that laptop, so I can't really comment, but it being Lenovo I'd assume that it's decent with a pretty good keyboard for a laptop. 

It also appears to even have a touch screen.
