Why does my headset pick up everything?

My friends keep hearing everything I do and I always leave my volume at 10. 

 

My headset is a Razer Kraken Pro, and I've tried turning down the microphone boost and general volume included with Windows. However, then my friends say it sound like I'm 1.2 nautical miles away from my mic. How do I fix this? Thanks in advance.
