S3 no reception?

my samsung galaxy S3 all of a sudden has no reception, been like that for about a week or so now.

i went to look in the settings, and it says my signal strenght is "-113 dBm 0 asu" i don;t know if that is significant? 

 

also, when i went to do a software update i accepted the terms and conditions and then it said processing failed?

I've tried taking the sim out and restarting etc, all of that but no luck! :( it also says mobile network state disabled .. probably because it isnt picking up a sim card at all.

I was wondering if there was a way to fix this that anybody knew of?
