So my NAS is a Thecus N5200 V1.

Its powers on but dosnt seem to be working correctly.

My PC cant find it when i use the software or enter in the ip address.

when i plug it in and start it i get :

1 beep then self testing on the screen then it says booting then it says assembling raid then i get a orange led light up(the top led) then all the other info comes up like wan lan ect (in this case i forgot to plug the lan cable in but when i did i got a longer beep) and i have the 2nd led on the one that has the 1 lan logo but still cant connect to it

Read the manual's troubleshooting section.

Check to make sure your NAS and your computer are on the same network.

Well people may not know your model/brand of NAS drive.  I certainly don't and I have no idea what network configuration you are using or the setup of the NAS' administration.

Could one of the indicator lights be saying that a drive has failed?

1. make sure you are connecting to the IP address that is shown on the device, not the one you previously configured (may have dropped its network config).

2. This box is running linux (i am no expert on linux), does it have a VGA/DVI/HDMI port you can connect to a TV/monitor to check where it is getting stuck in the boot process?

3. does the system respond to a ping?

If all else fails: Contact Thecus
