Which i5 is better ?

Planning to get a new cpu soon , i was thinking of getting either an i5 6500 or an i5 4690k , which is better in gaming ?

i5 6500 will require a 170 motherboard - Haswell H97 boards and lower won't be compatible

I'm just a bit worried about actual performance , if the i5 4690k is that much better when OCed i could throw a few more bucks and get me a Z97 Mobo .
