hey guys,

im using a laptop with an APU and i recently upgraded my ram and overclocked my CPU with AMD overdrive.

but i know thanks to logan that with an APU the ram really matters and i wanted to overclock it as well. i obviously cannot do it from the BIOS because im using a laptop. does anyone has experience with overdrive?

You overclocked a laptop cpu?

If you were actually crazy enough to do that you should clock it back to its original frequency to avoid overheat and damage

oh dear was that YOUR computer i just downloaded a few dozen viruses on when you weren't paying attention?

You shouldn't overclock because laptops have bad cooling as is and it would probably overheat.

well the CPU base clock is 2.3 GHz but HP underclocked it to 1.6 and put a voltage of 1.1V. i put the clock back at 2.3 and the voltage at 1.0125V which was stable in the 24h prime 95 stresstest i did.

and from there i have 1600MHz memory from corsair that i wanted to overclock if possible because i have an APU.

in terms of cooling i dont exceed 80°C in burn-in tests for over 2 hours as long as the room tempature isnt above 30°C. so im ok with that. all i want is someone to tel me how i can overclock the ram to squeeze a bit of performance out of my pc... because i dont go above 30 fps in most games....
