Google prepping Tegra X1 tablet

Source:http://www.phonearena.com/news/Google-to-release-10.2-inch-Android-tablet-called-the-Pixel-C_id74155

Google is rumored to be prepping a large screened tablet of its own, following the unveiling of the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro earlier this month. Called the Pixel C, the slate is rumored to offer a 10.2-inch display with a pixel density of 308ppi. The screen will be brightly backlit with the ability to reach 500 nits. Under the hood is the NVIDIA Tegra X1 SoC, which scored nearly 75,000 on AnTuTu. The chipset features an octa-core CPU with a 256-core Maxwell GPU. 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM is inside, and a Type-C USB port is on board. Android will be pre-installed.

While this is not a Nexus device, we could see it unveiled at tomorrow's event, with Google branding on the tablet. The company will offer two keyboard accessories for the slate. One will be made of aluminum, the other will have a leather build. Both will recharge automatically when the cover is closed.

The Pixel C is expected to look like the Pixel laptops, but without the keyboards attached. The lightbar on the back will remain, allowing you to see how much battery life remains.

While there is no word on pricing, the tablet is not expected to be cheap. The Pixel C is said to be scheduled for a November release, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

This looks promising, however, i would rather have the display at 8 inches and at 1080p for the best gaming performance.

If it's more than 300$ I frankly don't care.

It's a Pixel device, so obviously it's not going to be cheaper than $300...

He was being sarcastic. I think cos the GPU is OP, but can just about handle all games at 1440p at 60FPS

A gt730 has 384 cores. Tegra X1... good for streaming and light, light gaming, but at the resolution this thing is slated at... not gonna happen.

My 560 has 316 CUDA cores.

It managed Witcher 3 at 1080p on low-medium settings with ~50fps.

it's half of a gtx 750... I think they can get something more than that out of it, even if the clock speed isn't very high.

fermi cores are not the same as maxwell cores.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
