I think i am thinking to hard into this Ram Decision

K so 5 years ago i picked up 2 sets of Gskill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ, 2x2gb kit, to run on my p55de3, one stick has since gone bad leaving me at 6gb. So at the time Gskill did not have any 4gb sticks to match the frequency, however now they do. My motherboard's compatibility list hasn't been updated since either.

 

So here is my question.

 

If i pick up a set of  F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL, Same model, same speed, same voltage, and same timings, but in a 2x4, shouldnt it pair up just fine with my 2x2 kit already in this system?
