So I bought a new router to use with my fiber internet, I was getting 85mbit/s internet speed but the problem was that I couldn't play any games. I was having two second lag spikes in games, and nothing seemed to fix it, I think I actually tried everything. I could never get a cable to my room, but I considered powerline for a while now. VGKXWA6.jpg

My question is, does this have to do anything with powerline? I think my room is either the first switch or the second one , and the living room where my router is connected to is the 4th one. I just wanted to know if powerline would work for me, I spent a lot on the router so I am broke right now, but I just want to know if it would work, because I am planning on buying it. I live in a flat if that helps by the way

It would depend on the wiring in the building, not the breaker box.

If it's a flat, there's a good chance powerline will work just fine. Unless the building is very old, powerline should work.

Mom told me that the building was built in 1980-1983, back in the days when Lithuania was still occupied by Russia if that helps lol

Some circuit breakers cause problems with powerline adapters because of the way they work. This is only a problem when the outlets the adapters are connected to come from different breakers, which appears to be the case for the OP. That said, I have never seen a house (let alone a flat) with separate breakers for each room.

The breaker shouldn't make a difference, but the wiring would. It depends how to the circuit works really. My house has breakers for different rooms, but powerline works fine as the rooms are still connected.

To be honest, without diagrams showing how the wiring is done, it's quite hard to tell if it will work or not. I've not come across a place that powerline doesn't work in, even in houses older than where you live.

I don't really know.. I think I should just save up some money and go for it, it will probably fail because I am very unlucky with electronics but there is chance that it would work.

If you're very careful with how you open the packaging, you can probably just return it if you find it doesn't work.

I'm speaking from the experiences of me and my colleagues. Google results vary from "it works", "it works kinda", and "it doesn't work". I've had them work with one set of breakers, but not with another.

Well there is a single breaker box but my mom was mentioning that there was 2 before or something like that. Really, I don't know. I'll just have to try.
