For the R9 390, Sapphire or MSI.

The R9 390 can also do that - it's called VSR and the 260X should also be able to do it to 1440p

I'm looking at buying a gtx 970 and the Asus strix and the msi caught my atention Wich would you recommend?

To be completely honest, your CPU would be a huge bottleneck. My Phenom 840 held back a 270 quite a bit

You are on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know.

I don't think the r7 can run in full details on a 21 by 9 moniter and I'll look in to the r9

The R9 series can 100% sure do it. I can do 1440p and I've done it in Witcher 3 - wasn't playble since my card is not a 1440p card but it works. The 390 being GCN 1.1 should also be able to do 4K via VSR - same goes for the 380, 390X, 290, 290X, Fury, Fury X and Nano

The R7 260X might be able to do 1440p - you'd have to check. It might exceed the max res of that card though
