Windows and Linux on the same drive

Go to solution Solved by Amazingasian,

Partition it.

Guys, can you all tell me how to install linux on a hard drive that already has windows on it. So my old pc has a hard drive and i want to use the same drive till i get my new one in a month. After I get my new hard drive can I just pop in the old one back onto the old computer with windows on it?

Which distro will you be using? Because Ubiquity (the installer for Ubuntu and its various flavours), has the option to automatically install the OSes side-by-side.
