4k Workstation

Go to solution Solved by jimakos234,

This would be nice.4 cores -8 threads and a gtx 950 if you need CUDA in your work.

Hey everyone,

I got some questions for you guys.

I need to build a workstation for myself in my office. It is going to be used mainly for normal office work but should be able to run the full Adobe CC Suite very well - mainly for graphic designing. I do not need to edit video in 4k or at all really.

I have a budget of around 850 € or more if necessary.

So what was important for me is to go with a powerful CPU so I could use Photoshop really well. I went with a Intel Core i7-6700K wich clocks at 4.0 Ghz - pretty bally.

This is a Skypale CPU wich means it supports DDR4

Now my question is: Does it really make any sense or should I just go with another CPU and DDR3?

The next question I have about the same PC is the GPU. I don't plan on gaming on this PC so I do not need a awesome GPU - Or do I? I want to have a really awesome experience so I want to be able to get a 4k monitor and possibly be able to upgrade to another one if I want to.

Now I don't know if the onboard GPU can handle that - and if not what kind of GPU do I need?

Thank you,

Jo

4970K 4GHz base + 8GB RAM + 960 ( 2GB VRAM ) / 380 ( 4GB VRAM ) if you just want to do Photoshop in 4K that should be fine

you should go with a 5820k and DDR4 tbh.

wait 5820K isnt Skylake

The 1231 v3 xeon is like an i7 4790 without the igpu( intel HD) and with ecc memory support.
