Do I need antivirus on my Android phone? Curious to know.

No, unless you are stupid. But it doesn't hurt. And I personally have Avast running on my phone.

I have avast. I dont see a reason why not

Depends what you're doing. If you plan on downloading apps outside of Google Play Store by not necessarily trusted developers, then yeah, I would.

If you don't just download anything you can get your hands on, you should be fine.

 

AV on phones drain a lot of battery / performance, and the last test I've read about them, said they were doing nothing but draining battery and performance ^^

Frost upon these cigarettes.... lipstick on the window pane...

Good question. It depends on what you do with your phone.  If you want to be really safe and you can't afford loosing any data at all than it might be a good idea to get an antivirus. I've personaly never bothered with antivirus software on my phone and nothing has ever happened to me.
