I don't know how you are about brands, but.. Those builds aren't getting you much for your money.

If you absolutely have to choose between those builds that you currently have in your post, the first one will get you better performance. I just wouldn't personally recommend it.

Yes, and the cooler should be able to handle it just fine. Although, i'm doubting the motherboard, let me check something.

EDIT: The board should be fine for overclocking but don't push it toooo far for 24/7 use :P

I am absolutely not set in stone, nor do I have a preference for brands. This is my first build that I am choosing all the parts myself, so I wanted to make sure that I am getting the most for my money, if you get what I mean. Also, I have been seeing that the R9 380 is a good gpu, and it would last longer. Is the 970 still a viable option? Again, please take my words with a grain of salt as I am still trying to figure all the different things out, haha.

By a very small margin.

I even said,

I should have known I was going to get these replies.

The reason I recommended what I did is because I have a personal preference toward EVGA since they have fantastic customer service should you ever have to deal with them.

The 970 will always be viable unless the 380 comes down in price more (or until Pascal comes out, which is next year supposedly).

This is all just my personal opinion.

The 390x is up there with the 980. The 390 dukes it out with the 970, but the 390 wins.

It would really depend on which is cheaper then :P

EDIT: Some 970s are cheaper, some 390s are cheaper, so I guess it depends on personal preference at that point

They're both pretty much in the same price bracket across the board. So you're picking between brands or a few extra fps.

Okay, so it kind of looks like this. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MJwfTW

Since you freed up that 100$, would you guys reccomend something else or is this build solid? Also, thanks for helping me out with this!

You want a better power supply. The EVGA 600B is ok but nothing special. The Antec unit you had in your opening post is much better.
