i am confused.... Please halp

PandaCopyRight
Go to solution Solved by Fatelinha,

explain?

Dynamic super resolution, it renders the scene at a higher resolution and then smashes it so it fits in 1080p. The result is a sharper image, no filters needed

So .... i got my GTX 960 and when i was switching the resolution for the desktop i got confused .... and this resolution shows up in games as well as GeForce Experiance

here is a pic :

i am using a 1080p monitor so i am really confuzzled about this

You're using a 1080p monitor and 1080 is the recomended setting, what's the issue ?

OP is concerned that "2715X1527" pops up as an available resolution when he only has a 1080p monitor.

I'd just say ignore it.

EDIT: Try reinstalling drivers.

what a strange thing.... and it turns out the 2715x1527 is still a 16:9 aspect ratio only a 1080p amped up by squared root of 2... O.O" what the hell?????

NVIDIA and AMD implemented super resolution in there cards.. Basically you can enhance the res without having a better monitor. I dont really like it as it just makes everything smaller.

I would try it and see what happens lol.

i did ... it didnt look any better .... everything was just ... smaller

I only really use it games, it's a better form of anti aliasing essentially giving more render points for say a power line in a game. otherwise it would become invisible.

this is a good thing showing what it does, just use your monitor at the right resolution but use DSR in games if you can for a better image quality.

"NVIDIA Dynamic Super Resolution

Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain benefit greatly from higher rendering resolutions, more so than any other games in recent memory, as the rendering of many game elements is directly tied to the number of sample points: if an element isn't within a sufficient number of sample points it simply isn't displayed. By raising the resolution the number of sample points is increased, additional game elements are rendered, and overall fidelity greatly improved."

Probably not, I struggle with a lot of games and I have a considerable OC on a 970 1505MHz I think, perhaps CS:GO but it doesn't really need it, just really for when you have excess GPU for a game, something like portal or half life would be probably work. If you have no intention of using it you can disable it the nvidia control panel by going into managed 3d settings, I don't really see the point it's nice to have when in the few cases that your GPU can use it.
