Question about a vBios flashing software.

Hello everyone,

I got a question about ATIwinflash : has someone used it and what are your results/thoughts?
Did someone try on HD 7000 series cards here?


The reason why I ask : I would like to do some overclocking on my HD 7770s to see where they can go and what I could get out of those.
Then, what I would like to do is flash the bios of both my cards to the maximum stable frequency they reach so I don't have to key in my overclocks each reboot or use softwares to monitor them.

well I have extensively tested shit ton of bios' on my HD7850s and none of them made it overclock noticeably higher or got better 3dmark results, only thing you get out of flashing a compatible bios is, higher power limit control (if that thing actually works?). I can tell you straight away that flashing a compatible bios and then overclocking will grant you max 50mhz overclock more on your 7700 series cards and will provide more stability issues so dont bother.

It's ok.

But I prefer atiflash method tbh.

The BIOS editor for those cards would be VBE7 JIC

I HIGHLY suggest not using VBE7, its really unstable and I already killed one of the bios' on my 7850 because of it.

This is not what I mean to do. I just want to throw my overclock into their bios, I don't want to overclock balls to the walls.

How is it? I never had any problems with it

my clocks were messed up, basically it crippled my clock profiles on the bios and wouldnt change even if i flashed old bios back.

nope I am using second bios on my 7850, it has bios switch that allows me to change physical bios chips.
