Adding network card (desktop)

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

it will mean that your x16 slots will go down to x8/x8 speeds. You will not notice any performance drop as SLI runs at x8/x8 and Crossfire can run as low as X4.

Hi,

I currently have a desktop with an ASUS B85M-E MoBo and a Sapphire Radeon R9 280 in the PCIe 16x slot.
Now as this board does not have WLAN built in, I would like to add a PCIe network card. The problem here is that my R9 is blocking the PCIe x1 slot,

I know it is possible to fit the x1 network card in my second PCIe x16 (@ x4) slot but will this have a great influence on my graphic performance?

Thx,

Arnedv
