so i have a gtx 780 3gb edition and when i run dxdiag to check my display status it says that my approx total memory is 2729 and mine should be 3072mb but when i run gpu-z it says that my total memory is 3072mb so which one is true or right about my memory info

Moved to OSes and Software.

 

GPU-Z is correct. The 780 is a 3GB card. Can you post a screenshot of what DXdialog is showing?

How much VRAM is being consumed at the moment? Do you know?

on msi afterburner while im doing nth it consumes 64 or smthn like that while i play cs go it consumes about 300-800 mb

give dxdiag a break, it said approx 2.7GB. 2.7 is approximately 3GB.

 

I'll have to double check but it says like 16GB on my system at home...

That's not accurate. It should say 3072MB.

That figure is not VRAM, that is why it is not the same. if it was VRAM i'd show 8GB (r9 290 in crossfire). Windows will happily use spare system ram for the GPU if needed. here is a good read on the topic: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/89278-video-memory-virtualization-brief-guide.html

u should be happy that its showing u 24 gb mine spouse to be giving me 3gb can u plz send a pic from gpu-z or msi afterburner some people say that they r accurate
