if i wanted to write a driver...?

For instance, if i wanted to write a driver for a USB device that adapts ps2 memory cards, like the official device (only the non official version has no driver) What language would i need to write in? c++? I've had programming classes before but its been a while, so i'd have to teach myself the language either way, and i know there are good resources for it around i just have no idea what language to bother with.

10/10 would want that driver for PCSX2.

Seconded. I have so many save files on that old 8MB thing that I wouldn't mind recovering :D

You would use the WDK (Windows Driver Kit). It is integrated with Visual Studio 2015 (any license) not sure about other VS IDE's. From there I have no clue...never coded a driver before but I would like to create my own virtual driver for d3d11 for shits and giggles.
