Hey Guys! I was wondering if my PC can support an ssd? It says on the SSD that it's a SATA 6Gbs, but I only have a SATA 3Gbs thingy. I'm only gonna buy a 64GB SSD, since I'll only play League of Legends, and I have some spare money. So, can i connect it? If you want some more info, my PC's a prebuilt Gateway GT5654 from 2008 with a GTX 750 ti. Yeah yeah, I know, I'm broke.

Yes, SATA is backwards compatible!

Let's say that I'm planning on buying an SSD that's 1000MBps at a SATA 6GBps port, will I only be able to use 500MBps if I use a SATA 3GBps port?

You are confusing the b and B here:

If your SSD is 500MB/s, it will run at about 300MB/s on a SATA2, as that's the standard's limit.
