I am currently using a really old computer that will will replace later on in the year. However the CPU of this computer has started to fail hard where at times it would be at 100 CPU usage while only having chrome open.

Specs: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03145498

I have installed:

8gb g.skills ram

and 750ti 2GB vram

everything else for the specs is the same. as you can tell the e2-3200 cpu is a very old apu and considering that i am going to be changing this pc out later on in the year I don't want to just up and upgrade the mobo and CPU. I was planning on upgrading the cpu to a a8-3870k and I wanted to hear from other people to see if this is a good upgrade or if there may be a problem in upgrading to this CPU.

This depends on the performance you want. Overall, that mobo just won't do you good. That cpu may have bottleneck issues when gaming. Also the ram might need to be underclocked considering how old that motherboard seems.
