Help! GPU usage idles at 85-89% :(

Hi guys,

 

 

Please help me I don't know what to do. When I boot my pc I notice that my gpu is very loud.

 

 

When I opened Afterburner, that's when I saw that my GPU usage is always around 85-89% when I'm not even doing something.

 

 

I'm suspecting that this is a virus but how can I possibly clean my PC? I only have Microsoft Security Essentials and I already did a full scan but didn't find anything.

Do you mean CPU not GPU (GPU is your graphics cards proccessor). If its CPU open up task manager via the Ctrl+Alt+Delete menu and sort your processes by CPU usage to see which ones are at the top and post the process names here.

It's already indicated that it's my GPU not my CPU. I know some basics.

Sorry didnt mean to offend just wanted to double check 

 

Run malwarebytes first, full scan see if that detects anything if it does clean restart and see if that fixes it. If not i'd recommend removing the drivers for your card, re-seating it and reinstalling the drivers.

Already done with running full scan on malwarebytes but still my GPU usage idles around the same percentage

And while I was monitoring things, I went to task manager and saw that my CPU usage is also around 50-60% when I only opening chrome and afterburner

Can you please show us the running tasks in task manager while selecting CPU usage apps to show first?

I was able to resolve it by finding the specific process that eats up my CPU usage and was able to track down the location and deleted the program. Thanks btw!

It was some sort of a miner.
