windows 8.1 "audio device graph isolation" help

I recently got a new headset, the corsair void.  It uses a usb 3.0 port, and is wireless.  Whenever my headset is on, and set as the default playback and recording device, about once an hour my cpu usage will spike, and everything will come to a halt completely.  This lasts for about 5 minutes, then its gone.  It's the windows audio device graph isolation.

All windows updates applied, headset driver up to date.

No issues when i use my turtle beach x12s. no issues when i use my z506 surround sound.(both of which do not use a usb for sound, or a device utility software)  I asked corsair and they want me to try the headset with another similar device, but my laptop is windows 7.
