overkill with PSU

Hi, I would like to get two gtx 980 ti in sli. but with my current budget I can but only one now and the second one will have to wait some little more time. Now a 850W PSU should be ok for the two 980 ti and an i7-6700k overclocked, right? My concern is if I am going to loose performance by overkilling with an 850W PSU untill I get the second 980 ti?

Yes, 850W is enough. And you're not going to lose any performance before then.

Thanks for the info, I was looking at EVGA 850 G2 for $128. But going to go for GS850 then

Technically the 850W power supply will be slightly less efficient than eg. a 600W power supply when you're running with just a single 980 Ti. That difference is marginal though, nothing worth worrying about.
