Have some upgrades is mind

i feel like i have some components in need of upgrading.

 

-it feels like 8GB of RAM is no longer enough for my needs (i.e GTA V can sometimes reach to 7.7GB and crash the system, god forbid i have a single chrome tab open)

-been wanting to upgrade to 1440p (either 120 or 144 hz) for a while but havent really had the time or money to research

-worried GPU might not handle 1440p when i do upgrade

 so what should the "order of importance" be? If/when i do upgrade RAM should i sell my current sticks and buy 2 sticks of 8GB or buy 2 more sticks of 4GB?
