It sounds like a good deal to be able to get a new iPhone after only 12 months even though you're paying for it for 24 months, but if you pay the minimum of the 12 months then don't you still have to pay off the remaining of the 24 months to trade in the iPhone to get the newest one?

Don't rant about how much you hate Apple, that's not what this thread is about.

i'm guessing they force you into some kind of plan, because apple is good at that. (and some people prefer it. i defenately dont.)

so no, you wont be getting the new iphone and then just cancel the plan.

Each plan is 24 months. After 12 months you're allowed to trade in your iPhone and upgrade to the latest iPhone, which at that point your time resets (doing away with the rest of your 12 months on the old phone) and you start again with 24 months.

But do you have to pay for the months you had left before you start over again?

That sounds really good then.

I did the math (Upgrade Program vs paying in full) and it's actually very good value. You do pay a premium but you also get Apple Care and the convenience of paying it in smaller chunks.

So the only reason you would pay the full 24 months is so you can keep the phone?

Pretty much.

If it's a very good value then why are you paying a premium?

For Apple Care and the convenience of paying it in smaller chunks. Good value isn't always a by-word for cheap. However, Apple's offerings are 'cheaper' than its competitors offerings thus making it good value.

You will never pay full price for an iPhone if you only pay for 12 months, right?

There is no option to only pay 12 months. After 12 months you either trade in your old iphone for an upgrade or you pay off the remaining 12 months.
