i got a coolermaster haf 932 case that i like.  i bought it when it first came out.  the reason would be it could live thru several upgrades with no problem as its big as hell.

but the only thing is the front panel usb ports is 2.0 and they are having problems reading usb devices plugged into them.  i was trying to figure if i could upgrade the actual ports to 3.0 in place without cutting the front panel out or using add in ports.  it would be a shame to toss this case just because the ports stop working. just wondering if anyone has done this?

You could get case parts and say remove the current USB 2.0 and replace them with a similar 3.0 setup, they also offer a 3.5" USB3.0 add in:

that corsair one looks like what i would to get, but my front panel doesnt come off.  but i saw some supplier sites that has just the plug itself for like 3 bucks.  plus i saw some with gold plating.  the usb port contacts seem to been worn.  they have become a pain when plugging usb stuff and getting them to read. the back ports have no problem but a pain to reach around the back of the case to plug something in.

The entire front plastic can come off it's just clipped in place you access the clips from the inside and they hook onto the metal of the case. That will let you get access to the PCB/block of front I/Oports.
