So I got an ex contract iPhone and I constantly get no signal and it says sim not provisioned so I'm not sure what to do I know it's set on a specific carrier so would I have to get the iPhone unlocked by the carrier it was previously on

Basically what you just said if your changed the SIM to a different carrier you need to unlock the iPhone.
