So I recently bought a usb wifi adapter for my pc. Heres a link to the product: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-11_TL-WN725N.html

So I mainly play CS:GO. Whenver I join a public valve server, my ping just start going all over the place. So its really hard for me to play the game. Any reason why this is happening?

first off, TP-link isnt really known for their quality material.

second: thats just the nature of wifi... try changing your wifi channel to a lesser used channel. (chances are everyone in your area is on the same channel.)

i used to have this amazing sitecom wifi adapter that had a REALLY nice driver.

then they decided to throw that driver off their website, and replace it with some generic piece of gargabe that barely sets up a connection with an access point next to it.

i'm never buying sitecom again...

You cant play CS:GO with that adapter, it plays bad with good wireless adapters let alone that one.

EDIT: Really that adapter is for a raspberry pi not a PC playing CS:GO

Nano-USB (what I call them because they're practically not there) are notoriously bad for GOOD Wi-Fi reception. Also, that being a 150Mbps adapter, you're realistically going to get about 15Mbps. Drop the trailing zero on adapters, and that's realistically what you'll come close to getting (in my experience).

@rtpb5642 is right, I'd recommend powerline. Wireless just isn't all that great for gaming. You're looking at $70 for a decent at best wireless adapter for a GOOD (not great) experience. Myself, I use a router set up as a range extender to the main wireless network, then hardwire myself to the router, with the router I'm connected to set as the highest priority device on the network. A temporary solution for a temporary living space (staying with parents during a 2-month wait between moving back to college).
